Incorporated in Hong Kong in 2024, CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CMU OmniClear Holdings Limited (CMU OmniClear Holdings), which is jointly owned by the Exchange Fund (as the majority shareholder) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (as the minority shareholder). Since January 2025, CMU OmniClear has been carrying out the operations and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). The HKMA remains the owner and system operator of the CMU. Legal relationships with CMU Participants and other system linkages remain with the HKMA. CMU is a central securities depository (CSD) for debt securities in Hong Kong. We aspire to develop CMU into a major CSD in Asia, embodying reliability and excellence, encircling China and global bond markets within one seamless network.

CMU OmniClear offers a wide range of post-trade services, ensuring securities are settled and held safely and efficiently. Our services include primary issuance, clearing & settlement, collateral & repo management and corporate actions, covering CMU and linakage securities. Besides, we offer specialised services for Bond Connect with newly added cross-boundary repo solutions. Today, our membership has expanded beyond Hong Kong, serving local, regional, and international market participants.
